These states and many more are PAYING for portions of your new solar system:

Federal: the US government currently offers residential solar system owners a $2000 federal tax after the first year. Learn about the most recent federal tax incentive bill on the House floor.

California: As of January 1, 2007 the California Solar Initiative (CSI) provides $2.50/ AC Watt for solar systems under 100 kW (average home systems size is 4kW) based on ideal orientation, shading, and location/weather. For more information, contact REC Solar for a free site evaluation.

Massachusetts: The MTC pays $2.00/Kw + .25/KW for buying from a manufacturer in your state + $1.25/Kw for compliance per their solicitation. The state has a $1,000 rebate. These (2) rebate programs are entirely separate.

New Jersey: The New Jersey Clean Energy Program (NJCEP) pays for $3.35/AC Watt for solar systems under 10kW. NJCEP also offers Solar Renewable Energy Certificates (SREC), which is a tradable certificate that can be bought and sold separately from the power.
